Indian military starts Operation Namaste against Coronavirus

New Delhi – Chief of Army Staff, General Mukund Naravane, announced ‘Operation Namaste’ saying that it is necessary for the soldiers to keep fit since they can serve the country only if they maintain the highest level of fitness. The Chief of Army Staff has assured the families of the soldiers who are carrying out their duties in various campaigns or are at the borders that the Indian Army is taking good care of them. At the same time, General Naravane has assured the soldiers that their families will be well taken care of.

General Naravane announced that the army is well prepared to fight the pandemic along with the country. He expressed confidence that this campaign too will be successful, just like all the other campaigns undertaken by the Indian military.

Before this, Indian Defence Chief, General Bipin Rawat, had announced that the Indian defence forces are in a state of readiness to face the Coronavirus pandemic. Reports had also been published that the defence forces have kept their hospitals ready to treat patients with the Coronavirus infection.
