Inciting Chinese activities near LAC in Ladakh

Ladakh: Reports of Chinese fighter jets flying close to the Ladakh airspace in the last week of June have been published. The Chinese fighter jets carried out this inciting action at around 4 am. But the alert Indian Airforce immediately initiated actions against this. China seems to have taken this action to assess the preparations of the Indian Airforce and increase the pressure on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.

Inciting Chinese activities near LAC in LadakhOver the last few weeks, China is making frantic efforts to open a dialogue on the diplomatic level. The Indian government has started making decisions rocking the Chinese trade interests. Against this background, China is trying to curtail its losses by establishing cooperation again on the diplomatic and economic levels. But China is unwilling to withdraw its military to reduce the tensions on the LAC in Ladakh, as per the Indian demand. Whereas, India has warned China that relations between the two countries cannot be normalised while soldiers remain deployed on the LAC in Ladakh.

China is delivering a message to India that, given this, the tensions on the LAC could increase further. China has increased the deployment of fighter jets and air defence systems in the Tibetan region near the LAC in Ladakh. Although India has taken cognisance of the deployments, this Chinese deployment has not pressurised India. This is because even renowned international analysts have warned that the Indian strength in this region is far superior to China. In case of a conflict, the Indian Airforce will easily overpower China in this sector.

Still, China continues its efforts to pressurise India with movements of fighter jets. Chinese fighter jets flew close to the Ladakh airspace to check the level of preparedness on the Indian Airforce in the last week of June. But the Indian Airforce delivered an appropriate message to China with prompt retaliatory action. If China attempts such tactics in the future, there could be an aggressive retaliation from the Indian Airforce.
