China not responsible for the tension on LAC in Ladakh: Chinese foreign ministry

Beijing: Indian Defence Chief, General Bipin Rawat, had accused China of attempting to change the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in East Ladakh, using military might. China has reacted to the statement. Senior Colonel Wu Qian, the spokesman of the Chinese defence ministry, said that these claims made by the Indian Defence Chief are incorrect. The Chinese stand on the situation on the LAC in Ladakh is apparent, and China is not responsible for the situation on the LAC.

China not responsible for the tension on LAC in Ladakh: Chinese foreign ministryOn the 15th April, while speaking at the Raisina Dialogue, the security-related conference, General Bipin Rawat had made statements drawing global attention. China thought it would push India behind using its military might and advanced technology following an intrusion. China had this belief that India will bow in front of the Chinese pressure. But the Indian army stood like a rock in front of China in this sector. General Rawat said that it has been proved that the Indian army cannot be made to retreat.

Some people raised questions during the press conference of the Chinese defence ministry, referring to these statements. Senior Colonel Wu Qian answered the questions. Senior Colonel Wu Qian said that the claims made by Indian Defence Chief General Rawat are baseless and the responsibility for the situation in Ladakh cannot be pinned on China. Qian added that the situation on the LAC has returned to normal; India should be satisfied with it. China has advised that the LAC situation returned to normal even in the past and India should express satisfaction.

Meanwhile, there is a major contradiction in the statements made by the Chinese defence ministry spokesman. If China claims that its soldiers did not intrude into the Indian territory, it will have to say that the Indian soldiers intruded into its territory. But China is not willing to level such an accusation against India. It is once again proved that China is only searching for a loophole to escape, saying that the statements of the Indian Defence Chief are baseless.

China not responsible for the tension on LAC in Ladakh: Chinese foreign ministryMeanwhile, Chinese soldiers are still deployed in certain parts on the LAC. India has repeatedly warned that the tension on the LAC will not be diffused unless these soldiers are withdrawn. China has refused to comply. After that, India has started moves to issue warnings to China. Indian Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravane visited east Ladakh and Siachen to review the war preparedness in the region. India is delivering appropriate messages to China through such actions. But as of now, China is refraining from giving an aggressive reaction and hurt India further.

It is pertinent to note that the Chinese ministry has not given any reaction on the statements made by Defence Chief General Rawat. In the past, India had avoided using aggressive language against China in the event of a Chinese intrusion on the LAC. But there is a change in the Indian stand, since the conflict on the LAC, in the Galwan valley, and Indian leaders and military officials have started issuing warnings directly to China. In contrast, China is expressing a wish that the border dispute should not affect bilateral relations. India is repeatedly sending the message that China cannot expect to maintain cooperation with India, continuing with its intrusion attempts on the LAC.
