A few days ago, the North Korean dictator had threatened the United States with a nuclear attack. He had also instructed his officials to be prepared for a conflict. It has been revealed that North Korea has increased its nuclear activities since Joe Biden took over as the President of the United States. In March, North Korea tested three missiles. International think tanks had reported that new activities have started in the North Korean nuclear projects.

Against this background, it is apparent that the North Korean dictator is emphasising on strengthening relations with China. Before this, discussions were held between senior officials from both countries, in March, in Beijing. It is said that important messages were exchanged between Kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping. Discussions for strengthening the traditional alliance between the two countries were also held at this time.

As per the claims made by the analysts, the movements between China and North Korea are a part of Chinese strategies. China is being cornered on the issues like Coronavirus pandemic, activities in the Indo-Pacific and human rights violations. China is making all the possible effort to exert pressure on the western front to wriggle out of the situation. Analysts believe that China is using North Korea for this purpose.

China has the strongest influence on the North Korean regime. The friendship and cooperation agreement was signed with North Korea six decades ago. The repeated extensions granted to the deal only demonstrate that the Chinese influence remains strong in North Korea. China has maintained its influence on North Korea through financial aid, food grain supplies and other measures. It is also claimed that China is behind the North Korean nuclear weapons program.
