Government sets Rs. 56,500 crore as disinvestment target for FY17

New Delhi : The Central Government aims to raise Rs. 56,000 crore through disinvGovernment sets Rs. 56,500 crore as disinvestment target for FY17estment for the current financial year.

In the last financial year, the Government aimed to raise Rs. 69,500 crore in disinvestment for development of infrastructure. But, only Rs. 25,312 crore were managed to be collected during year. For the year 2014-15, the disinvestment target was fixed at Rs. 16,500 crore but due to positive response from investors Rs. 24,500 crore fund was raised. Whereas in the financial year 2013-14 Rs. 16,000 crore and in the financial year 2012-13 Rs. 23,960 crore got credited to the government exchequer from disinvestment.
