Firing after nearly four and a half decades increases tension on the Indo-China border

New Delhi: There was firing on the India-China border after nearly four and a half decades. But the Indian and Chinese militaries are playing a blame game, as to who fired first. The Indian army said that the Chinese soldiers opened fire during their mission to take control over the Rezang La hill to the south of Pangong Tso lake and violated the agreement between the two countries. At the same time, China has made a fuss that the Indian soldiers intruded into the Chinese territory and fired warning shots. But media carried a report saying that the fact is that the Chinese soldiers had come with iron rods, for a repeat of the Galwan attack, to the Rezang La hill. However, the Indian soldiers foiled their plot.

Indian soldiers are deployed on the strategically important hills to the south of Pangong lake. Therefore, it has become difficult for the Chinese soldiers to infiltrate into the Indian territory. Aware that if a conflict sparks between the soldiers of both the countries, the Chinese soldiers would take a massive beating from the soldiers on the Rezang La hill, China planned another cowardly attack like Galwan on Monday. Indian newspapers have published photographs of Chinese soldiers approaching with weapons like iron rods and barbed wires. China even opened fire to push the Indian soldiers back from the Rezang La hill. But the Chinese soldiers could not break the Indian resolve, and they were forced to retreat. It is clear that the Chinese soldiers have had to face this kind of embarrassment on many occasions during the last few months.

While the Chinese soldiers are repeatedly being forced to retreat on the Ladakh border, China is taking care not to fall short in the propaganda war. China has accused that the Indian soldiers intruded into its territory and incited the Chinese soldiers by firing warning shots in the air. China criticised that this is an act of incitement and a violation of the agreement between the two countries. Chinese military patted its own back, saying that the situation did not fester due to the restraint shown by the Chinese soldiers. But is being claimed that the Chinese President is infuriated as the Chinese soldiers are repeatedly being forced to retreat. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was known as the most powerful army in the world. The image of the PLA has been severely jolted after the conflict started in Ladakh. This is the reason for the Chinese President’s anger, and as per reports, senior officials in the PLA will have to bear the brunt of his wrath.

Analysts are saying that the Chinese military will have to withdraw as the winter is close, otherwise, China will suffer major losses in this sector. It has become a need for China to create a façade of a big victory by carrying out a major attack before the withdrawal. China is making all the possible efforts to make this happen. But because of the firing, which took place after a gap of four and a half decades, the possibility of a war sparking here has become stronger. India should be ready for a war against China. Former Indian military officials are saying that if India does not show the readiness, China will harass India more in the coming times and the dream of a powerful India will remain unfulfilled.
