Port o Prince/Washington – Jovenel Moise, the President of the third-largest country in the American Caribbean Islands region, has been assassinated. It has been exposed that on Wednesday, unidentified men launched an attack on the private residence of President Jovenel Moise early in the morning. President Moise’s wife Martin has been grievously injured in the attack, and she has been shifted to the United States for treatment. It is being revealed that the attackers are trained hired assassins; four of them have been killed in action taken by the security agencies.
President Jovenel Moise has his private residence in the Pelerin-5 area of Port-o-Prince, the capital of Haiti. Unidentified attackers launched a fierce attack on Wednesday early in the morning. Before initiating the attack, the attackers who came in cars announced over the megaphone that this was an action by the Drug Enforcement agency of the United States. After entering the house, the attackers tied up the employees and security personnel. After that, the attackers opened fire on the President and his wife. It has been revealed that 12 rounds were fired at the President.
The attackers tried to escape after the attack. But the security agencies in Haiti declared a curfew in the capital, Port o Prince and launched an aggressive search operation. Four attackers were killed in the campaign, and two suspects have been detained. It is being revealed that the dead attackers, as well as the suspects, are trained assassins. US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson have expressed deep regret over the assassination. The UN Security Council has called for a special meeting on Thursday. Jovenel Moise was the President of Haiti in 2017. But there was agitation against him for the last three years, demanding his resignation. The horrible earthquake in Haiti in 2010 and the Cholera epidemic that hit Haiti in 2017 claimed more than 300,000 lives. Even after that, the country is dangerous because of the natural calamities, epidemics, and political instability. There is anarchy like situation in the country.
