Impose a complete boycott against terrorist state Pakistan, appeals Belgian lawmaker

Brussels – The Pakistani Prime Minister claimed that sooner or later, the United States will have to recognise the Taliban government in Afghanistan. This open support given by the Prime Minister of Pakistan to the Taliban is having international repercussions. Belgian MP Filip Dewinter warned that the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan with the help of Pakistan has created a threat to global security. Dewinter strongly demanded a complete boycott against Pakistan, saying that Pakistan is as much a threat to the world as the Taliban.

Pakistan, terrorist safe havens, Terrorism, Belgium,Filip Dewinter, a senator from the European country of Belgium, slammed Pakistan’s terrorism while talking to the media. Pakistan is a terrorist country and no relations can be maintained with such countries. Pakistan has been supporting international terrorism. Saying that it has happened in the past and would continue to happen, Dewinter called for a complete boycott of Pakistan. At the same time, Dewinter underlined the threat to the European countries from the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

‘After the US defeat in Afghanistan, the country has fallen into the hands of the Taliban. Now, the Taliban have gained a lot of money and experience of terrorism. Using this, the Taliban will increase extremism in European countries. This poses a big threat to Europe. The Belgian government must take serious cognisance of the matter. We cannot have any relationship with Pakistan, who is behind all this. We need to boycott Pakistan completely. It is imperative to send a strong message to Pakistan,’ Senator Dewinter said.

Pakistan is as dangerous as the Taliban and poses military, terrorist and security threats to the world. This cannot be ignored. We should send a message to the world that we will stand with those trying to stop a terrorist country like Pakistan,’ Dewinter said.

Junaid Qureshi, executive director of the European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS), also pointed to the rise in terrorist activity since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. Qureshi warned that the Taliban wants to implement the political system of their choice worldwide and that they would not stop making efforts in that direction. Qureshi also claimed that the strength of terrorist organisations in Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir has increased since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

Although Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has openly supported the Taliban, it is becoming clear that the international community still views the Taliban as terrorists. European countries have become more aware of this and the European Union has started a movement against Pakistan. The European Union had awarded Pakistan the status of a Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) to recognise its assistance in the war on terror in Afghanistan. As a result, Pakistan’s products in European countries were not taxed like in other countries. This greatly benefited Pakistan’s exports. But now, the European Union is preparing to withdraw the GSP concession awarded to Pakistan.

Moreover, there is a strong possibility that EU member states will also take the initiative to impose strict sanctions on Pakistan in the near future. This could come as a big blow to Pakistan. Some of the leading analysts and journalists from Pakistan are pointing out the fact to the Pakistan government that Pakistan may have to pay a heavy price for its support to the Taliban. But the government of Pakistan is ignoring the warning completely.
