London: The United States and Great Britain pointed to the increasing Chinese threat saying, ‘It may sound strange to hear about the Chinese threat. But the threat is real, and the intensity increases by the day. It is necessary to speak openly about this. There is also a need to act against the threat.’ Intelligence agencies Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from the United States and MI5 from Great Britain held a joint press conference for the first time in the British capital London. Chiefs of both the agencies pointed to the covert activities being carried out by the Chinese communist regime around the globe.

Chinese communist regime is trying to pressure many countries using various tactics. Ken McCullum, chief of British intelligence agency MI5, warned that taking into account the current global equations, these moves become the greatest threat. The Director of MI5 also said that even today, Chinese covert activities are being carried out in Great Britain on a vast scale and investigations being held in Chinese cases are seven times more than others.

FBI Chief Christopher Ray warned that along with the United States and Great Britain, these increasing Chinese activities pose a threat also to the allies. The FBI chief also accused China is weakening the industry sector in other countries by large-scale technology theft and acquiring the markets in these countries. The US official also claimed that the Chinese ‘Hacking Program’ is more prominent than agencies of all the leading countries put together. The United States, Canada, Australia and the European countries have consistently raised the issue of Chinese activities over the last few years. But agencies from leading countries like the United States and Great Britain pointing to the Chinese threat in a joint press conference became significant.

China has reacted to the joint press conference held by the United States and Great Britain, saying that this is a part of the malicious campaign being run against it.
