18 killed in Boko Haram terror attack in Nigeria

Abuja: – 18 people were killed in the attack carried out by terrorists from Boko Haram in Nigeria. This terror attack was carried out on workers in the Borno province near the Niger border. This is the second terror attack by Boko Haram this month.

The terrorists from Boko Haram carried out the attack in the Damasak region in the northeastern Borno Province of Nigeria. The terrorists targeted the workers harvesting the crops near Lake Chad near the Niger border. As per the information given by the local media, the terrorists who arrived in motor cars opened indiscriminate firing on the villagers. Possibilities of massive casualties in the firing were being predicted. But Governor Babagana Zulum informed that 18 people were killed and 21 were injured in the firing.

After this Boko Haram attack, the Nigerian military has initiated military actions and airstrikes in Borno and surrounding areas. Mohammed Yerima, the spokesman of the Nigerian military, said that terrorists were killed and their shelters were destroyed in action. The Nigerian army did not reveal the number of terrorists killed in action.

Even in the last week, 11 people had been killed in a Boko Haram attack in the Borno province. Reports of the camps erected by the United Nations coming under terror attacks also have been received. Concerns are being expressed, at the international level, over the increasing attacks by Boko Haram. The accusation is made that Dr Isa, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, is connected with the terrorist organisation. Dr Isa has dismissed all the allegations made against him.

The Boko Haram terrorists have carried out massive bloodshed in Niger, Chad, Cameroon, and Nigeria. More than 30,000 people have been killed in the violence and more than 3 million have been displaced.
