Ufuk Ulutas, an admirer of Turkish President Erdogan and who has completed his education in the Hebrew University at Jerusalem, has been entrusted the responsibility of the Ambassador to Israel. Turkey desires to improve its relation with Joe Biden, the future President of the United States. Turkey feels that if the relations with Israel are improved, the road to strengthening cooperation with the United States will be cleared. An Israeli newspaper claimed that this is the reason that Turkey has appointed its Ambassador to Israel.

In 2018, more than 60 Hamas terrorists had been killed in action taken by the Israeli military, in the Gaza Strip. Infuriated with this action, Turkey had insulted and expelled the Israeli Ambassador, calling Israel a terrorist country, after that, Israel too, meted out similar treatment to the Turkish Ambassador.

Meanwhile, while Turkey is making efforts to amend its ties with Israel, tension has been created in its relations with Iran. Iran has expressed annoyance over the statements made by the Turkish President, in a public program in Azerbaijan. Whereas, Turkey has protested against the language used by Iran, against the Turkish President.
