Beijing/Seoul – Four Chinese and Russian bombers carried out patrolling in the Asia-Pacific airspace. Thereafter, Global Times, the Chinese government mouthpiece, threatened Japan, the United States and India. The Chinese mouthpiece said, quoting analysts, that the exercise was necessary to issue a warning to the participants of the QUAD and AUKUS.
Two Chinese H-6K and two TU-95MC bombers carried out this patrolling in formation. Russian and Chinese defence ministries announced that the bombers patrolled the ‘Sea of Japan’ and ‘East China Sea‘ regions. It is claimed that the Russian fighter jets also joined the patrolling at this time. This is the third joint exercise between these two countries’ air forces in the last few weeks.
The China-Russia exercises are viewed against the background of the tension building with the United States and NATO. Global Times, the mouthpiece of the Chinese regime, said that while the provocative actions of the western countries are rocking the world, these exercises by Russia and China have become important. The Chinese mouthpiece claimed that this exercise was carried out for national security, regional peace and stability.
The Chinese government news agency, Xinhua, said that the Chinese and Russian aircraft abided by all the international regulations during the exercise. China declared that this was a routine exercise and the airplanes did not cross into any country’s airspace. But South Korea accused, those Chinese and Russian airplanes intruded into its airspace. South Korea also informed that it had despatched its fighter jets to expel the Russian and Chinese bombers.
