PM Modi delivers message of self-reliance on the occasion of Amrut Mahotsav of Indian independence

New Delhi – ‘Coronavirus pandemic is changing the post-World War II world order. After this, the world’s outlook regarding India has changed. At the same time, India is facing a crisis of terrorism and expansionism. The country is responding to these challenges with courage and firmness’, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day. The Prime Minister lauded the country’s success in developing the vaccine for Coronavirus. The Prime Minister freely praised the country’s doctors and medical staff and researchers developing vaccines during the crisis. The Prime Minister pointed out that the supply of food grains to 80 crore people in the country has become a topic of discussion globally. At the same time, the world’s outlook regarding India has changed since the Coronavirus pandemic, underlining that India’s international importance has also increased.

After 25 years, the country will celebrate the centenary of independence. Before that, it should be our dream to achieve the goal of 100 per cent self-reliance. He said that every effort should be made for this and not a single moment should be wasted. The Prime Minister informed about the ambitious schemes launched by the Central Government for this. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Rs 100 lakh crore ‘Gati Shakti’ project for infrastructure development would fulfil the dreams of millions of people and create new employment opportunities for millions of youths. The Prime Minister further said that a comprehensive and integrated approach is needed for building the infrastructure. The country is still paralyzed in the energy sector and has to spend ₹ 12 trillion every year on imports. On this front, the dream of self-reliance must come true. In the future, green hydrogen will be the future of the world. To achieve the objectives in this area, I am announcing the National Hydrogen Campaign with Tricolour as a witness. This green progress will create new employment opportunities for us. The country wants to become a global hub for production and export of green hydrogen during this nectar season, which started from the platinum jubilee festival year.’ the Prime Minister said.

The country had set a target of generating 450 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the country’s achievement of generating 100 gigawatts of power ahead of schedule. ‘India today is solving the problems that have plagued it for centuries and decades. Whether it’s a landmark decision to repeal Article 370 or a system to free the country from the shackles of taxation, a one-class pension scheme for our soldiers or a peaceful settlement of the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute, we’ve seen it all come to reality in the last few years. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the country’s success.

At the same time, informing about other schemes taking the country forward, the Prime Minister strongly stated the government’s determination to make the administration more efficient and people-oriented by removing administrative obstacles.
