Australia makes additional provision for Special Forces

Third World WarCanberra: Australia has made additional provisions for its special forces, in view of the increasingly aggressive Chinese activities and the rising tension between the United States and China. Prime Minister, Scott Morrison clarified that the provision is being made for equipping the Special Forces with ultramodern equipment, for countering the forces challenging the security of Australia. Australia is also taking an initiative to provide financial and military aid to the smaller countries, in the Pacific region.

Prime Minister, Scott Morrison has initiated Project Greyfin for the Special Forces of the Australian military. Under this project, the Special Forces will be equipped with drones, ultramodern communication equipment, armoured shields and ultramodern weapons. This increased preparedness of the Special Forces is for tackling the challenges faced in the Indo-Pacific region. The Australian government has made a provision of $3 billion over the next 20 years. Prime Minister Morrison informed that out of these, provision of $500 million is for the next four years.

The Australian Special Forces are being equipped with ultramodern weapons, to face these challenges.’ Whereas, Defence Minister Linda Reynolds pointed out that major challenges related to the security of the Australian interests, in the Indo-Pacific region, will confront the Special Forces. Prime Minister Morrison, as well as Defence Minister Reynolds, avoided openly naming China.

Ever since Morrison assumed power, he has started to openly challenge the policies of the communist Chinese government disregarding the economic and political pressures from China. The Australian leaders are readily adopting a firm stand against Chinese aggressiveness. The Australian leaders are criticising that the militarisation of the Indo-Pacific region, is a threat to Australian security. Whereas, one prominent Australian leader compared the monstrous Chinese ambitions to Nazi Germany, during the second world war.

The Chinese activities near the Australian marine region are responsible for these reactions. China has increased its activity to set up a military base in the Vanuatu island, and the Australian military officials have expressed concerns over this. Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison will be raising the issue of Chinese effort for increasing influence, on the smaller countries in the Indo-Pacific region, during the Pacific Island Forum. Along with Australia, even the United States will be raising the issue of Chinese aggressiveness, during the conference.
