A decade has been completed since Jinping took over the reins of the Chinese communist party and the country. During this decade, major changes have been brought about in the communist party and the internal Chinese systems. President Jinping has consistently taken decisions to enhance his grip on the communist party, military and the country.

In 2018, Jinping cancelled the age and term limit for the President’s post. After that, he forced his policies and thoughts into ‘Xi Jinping Thought’ in the Communist party ideology. He also succeeded in acquiring the post of Chief of the Central Military Council, which controls the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. After that, last year, the Communist party even passed a resolution named ‘The Document’.

Against this background, it is being said that Jinping is set to bring about major changes in the Politburo and Military Commission along with the Central Committee. Till now, senior positions in the Communist party were held by citizens born during the communist revolution led by founder Mao. But this time, the Central Committee and the Politburo members will be citizens born in the 1960 decade. It is said that these members will be promoting the open market-based ideology instead of the closed framework of the communist party.

But it is being said that the ultimate control over this new group will remain in the hands of the people with the old ideology. Jinping has been consistently stressing the issues of national security and social stability to retain the reins in his hand. It has been revealed that Jinping gave the same advice to the Political and legal work committee of the communist party. At the same time, a warning has been issued that action could be taken against the digital systems threatening the grip of the communist party. Moreover, by claiming that the growth of the digital economy in China is unhealthy, Jinping has indicated imposing further restrictions and controls over it.
