United States and United Kingdom seek ban on China’s TikTok

Washington/London: The United States and the United Kingdom have demanded action against China’s TikTok app, which proves dangerous to democracy and negatively affects the country’s people. Three US senators have submitted the ANTI-SOCIAL CCP Act proposal. Besides, UK’s internal security minister warned that using this Chinese app endangers UK’s democracy and security.

China’s Internal Security Minister Tom Tugendhat alleged that sensitive data or information is transmitted to China with the help of these apps. Parliament’s TikTok account was closed after members of the British Parliament objected to it. At the same time, the UK appealed to the country’s youth to get out of this Chinese app.

Moreover, three former senators in the US Senate reminded of the ban imposed on TikTok by former President Donald Trump two years ago. The proposal presented by these senators said that this action was necessary to prevent the influence of China, Russia and North Korea on the US people. The number of users of this app in the US is more than ten crores.
