Openly saying that a mega war has been sparked in the African countries for food, Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio warned that the condition would worsen in the coming times. Russia should break these shackles and open the food grain stock for exports. Maio warned that the situation would only worsen if this were not done.

Turkey is trying to work out a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine to resolve the food grain crisis. Against this background, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited Turkey on Wednesday. At this time, the Russian Foreign Minister expressed willingness to export food grain lying in the warehouses in Ukrainian ports. But Lavrov pointed out that no one else but Ukraine has planted marine mines around these warehouses. Russian Foreign Minister lambasted that the responsibility for defusing these mines lies with Ukraine and not Russia.

Last week, Russian President Putin held a meeting with the President of the African Union. After the meeting, the President of the African Union announced that Russia is not responsible for the starvation crisis faced by the world along with Africa. Russian President Putin had announced that the food grain supply could be streamlined if the western countries withdrew the sanctions imposed against Russia. But Ukraine and the western countries are not in a mood to accede to his demand. Therefore, Russia is presenting a picture to the world that it is not Russia but Ukraine and the western countries responsible for the worsening starvation crisis in the world.
