Massive migrant influx in Europe once again; 800 illegal migrants detained in 48 hours

Third World WarAthens/Madrid: There are indications of the illegal immigrant problem intensifying in Europe. In the last 48 hours, 800 illegal immigrants tried to intrude into Europe, and the security agencies have detained them. A whopping 550 immigrants landed on Lesbos Island, in Greece and this is the first time that the immigrants have intruded on such a massive scale, since 2016.

The European Union and the voluntary organisations were claiming that illegal immigration, into the European countries, was on the decline,since the last year. The group claimed that the number of immigrants entering the European countries had reduced by 80%, as compared to 2015-16. Various statistics also had been forwarded, in support. But the incidences in the last two days indicate that the illegal immigrant crisis is far from over.

There are 240 children among the immigrants, and the immigrants are citizens of Syria and Afghanistan. More than 300 immigrants were taken to the United Nations’ camps in Lesbos. Government of Greece has taken a serious note of this large scale intrusion and has called for a meeting of the security-related committee.

Following Greece, 150 immigrants tried to intrude in the Ceutaregion, in Spain. These African immigrants intruded by jumping the fence in the Ceuta and the security agencies detained them. It is claimed that an encounter ensued between the security forces and the intruders. The local agencies informed that more than 3,000 immigrants have tried to intrude, into Spain, in the last seven months.

More than 60 Pakistani nationals tried to intrude through the Gallipoli port in Italy. Investigations are being made as to how these immigrants managed to reach the island. Sources informed that the immigrants even had nine children. 54 immigrants were detained in action carried out by the British Border Force, in the Dover region. The British agencies clarified that these immigrants are of Iraqi and Iranian origin.
