Washington – The United States has killed a senior leader of the dreaded terrorist organization ‘ISIS’ in a drone strike in eastern Syria. The US Central Command has announced that the leader of the IS, Usamah al-Muhajir, was killed in the attack carried out by the MQ-9 drone on Friday. At the same time, the Central Command said in a statement issued on Sunday that the threat of ‘IS’ is not over yet, and it will continue to take action against ‘IS’ in Syria and Iraq. It has also been claimed that the Russian SU-35 aircraft flew dangerously close to the
US MQ-9 drone before the attack on Muhajir.

Usamah al-Muhajir was recognized as a very effective IS leader in northwestern Syria. But on Friday, he was travelling on a motorcycle in eastern Syria. The US Central Command said he was attacked and shot down by an MQ-9 drone. We are ready to take action against terrorists with forces fighting against IS in Syria and Iraq, said General Erik Kurilla, Commander of US Central Command.
Meanwhile, as reports of the attack were coming out, some US officials claimed that the Russian fighter jet SU-35 dangerously approached the American MQ-9 drone. The American officials alleged that this created a hostile situation. This incident once again proves how irresponsible Russia’s military actions are in countries like Syria, according to these officials. They expressed concern that similar threats will continue to arise in the future for the United States due to such actions by Russia.

If a conflict erupted between Russia and the United States in Syrian airspace, Russia’s options would be quite limited, while the United States possesses significant capabilities in the region. Russia has not yet fully comprehended what actions the United States could take in this area. Due to this, Russia is displaying an irresponsible attitude, General Kurilla claimed.
