China is funding public schools near US military bases - sensational report by a US think tank

Washington/Beijing – A leading voluntary group has made a sensational allegation that the Chinese Communist regime provides financial aid to hundreds of public schools in various US states, and many of these schools are close to US military bases. Besides, a think tank named Parents Defending Education has drawn attention with its report on the issue of the Chinese government trying to infiltrate not only schools but also three top educational institutions in the science and technology sector. The US Congress has taken cognizance of the think tank’s report, and the US representative of Congress, Jim Banks, has written to the Education Department demanding a thorough investigation into the matter.

Former US President Donald Trump’s aggressive decisions against China also had a provision to prevent Chinese intrusion into US educational institutions. Additionally, Trump passed a law declaring all US groups working for the Chinese regime as foreign agents. Thus, it forced many big and small groups working for China to reveal themselves to the public. Also, some Chinese institutions had consolidated their business from the US. However, Joe Biden has adopted a soft policy on the issue of China since taking over the reins of the US three years ago. Besides, many decisions of Trump’s tenure have been cancelled, and some have been postponed.

Against this background, Chinese Communist regime interference in US educational institutions coming to the fore becomes noteworthy. This picture of Chinese intrusion has come to light from the report titled ‘Little Red Classrooms’ released by the Parents Defending Education think tank. The report says the Chinese government has provided financial assistance to schools in 34 provinces and the US capital Washington. Moreover, the number of such schools is about 143, and there has been a shocking disclosure that many of these schools are close to US military bases. These include Fort Knox, Fort Bragg, Nellis Air Force Base, Norfolk Airbase, Langley Air Force Base, and at least 20 bases.

Furthermore, the Parents Defending Education think tank has claimed that the Chinese government has successfully infiltrated public schools and top educational institutions in the US science and technology sector. These include Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Simpson County Public Schools, Kentucky, and North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics. The issue of interference from the Communist Government of China has also been raised in the US Congress.

Moreover, Jim Banks, the US representative of Congress, has written a letter to the Education Department demanding an in-depth investigation. Meanwhile, Mike Waltz and Senator Roger Marshall have warned that this new report is an alarm bell for every parent in the US.
