Third wave of Coronavirus pandemic has already hit, warns WHO

Geneva: – The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that the success of the anti-corona vaccination campaign is being tarnished by the growing spread of the Delta variant, and the third wave of the Coronavirus has occurred worldwide. Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO, pointed out that the Delta variant of the Coronavirus has spread across 111 countries worldwide, and the number of patients has been steadily rising for the past four weeks. While the WHO warns of a third wave, Britain’s leading medical association has strongly criticized the British government’s decision to ‘unlock’.

The Coronavirus pandemic that started in China at the end of 2019 continues to play havoc worldwide. The second and third waves of the pandemic have started in many major countries of the world. Globally, the death toll from the Coronavirus outbreak has risen to 40 million, with 188 million infected. Many countries in the Americas and Europe have also begun to relax restrictions imposed during the Coronavirus outbreak. However, the effects are beginning to show, and the WHO has warned that the third wave of Coronavirus pandemic has started around the world.

Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO, said, ‘A few months ago, the United States and European countries speeded the vaccination against the virus. As a result, the number of cases and deaths of Coronavirus had reduced. Unfortunately, this trend is beginning to reverse, and the world is in the first phase of the third wave of Coronavirus’. He claimed that the third wave of Coronavirus was triggered by the increasing spread of the Delta variant, the crowds in public places in many countries and violations of health regulations. The number of Coronavirus cases has been steadily rising in various countries over the past four weeks, with the number of deaths rising again after a 10-week period, Ghebreyesus noted.

Preparations for the unlock have begun in Britain, while the WHO is signalling the third wave. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has announced that the restrictions will be lifted from 19th July. The country’s leading medical body, the British Medical Association, has strongly criticized the British government’s decision. The British Medical Association has warned that the decision to relax all restrictions regarding Coronavirus from 19th July is irresponsible and dangerous.

The medical association claimed that the decision to unlock while the majority of the population in the United Kingdom has not been vaccinated could re-tighten the grip of Coronavirus. More than 30,000 Coronavirus cases have been reported in Britain in the past seven days, with the death toll rising to 129,000.

Meanwhile, the death toll due to the virus in Argentina, in Latin America, has reached a hundred thousand. Argentina became the 11th country in the world with more than a hundred thousand victims. Latin America, Brazil, Peru, Mexico and Colombia have accounted for more than a hundred thousand casualties each, with Argentina being the fifth country. The number of Coronavirus patients in Argentina has reached 4.7 million.
