Washington: The US President has given a stern warning to the countries who voted against the US’ Jerusalem decision at the UN. UN, US, Donald Trump, JerusalemA meeting of the UN General Assembly would be called upon in a few hours after the request of the ‘Organisation of the Islamic Council’ (OIC) and the Arab nations. The OIC, pro-Palestine and anti-Trump supporters have planned to oppose Trump’s decision on Jerusalem with the help of the UN General Assembly. Unlike the UN Security Council, the US cannot exercise its right to veto in this General Assembly. The US had threatened the UN and its member nations in this regard.

In a press conference held at the White House, President Trump stated that the US was closely watching the vote at the UN General Assembly. He said that the countries that had taken billions of dollars from the US, voted against them but, it would not repeat henceforth. Trump told reporters on Wednesday that the money of the US citizens would not be wasted in this manner and that the US aid would not be allowed to be misused. The US public was fed up with such countries too and the funding to the countries that opposed the US would be stopped, added Trump. President Trump threatened that the US was not concerned of anyone whilst taking the decision and it would result in large savings for the US.

Moreover, Trump praised the US envoy Nikki Haley on the strong warning she gave to the UN member countries a few hours back. Trump said that Haley had given the apt message to the US opponents. Ambassador Haley had threatened countries opting to oppose the Jerusalem resolution saying that the United States would act against them, only a few hours earlier. Haley indicated that the decision to move the US embassy to Israel was solely US’ and if at all the countries that survived on the US aid opposed the decision, it would take action against them.

In the meantime, after this threat from President Trump, US envoy Haley wrote to the UN member countries. Haley said that the message clearly mentioned not to vote against the US President Trump’s decision.
