While speaking at the security meeting in ‘Australian National University’ organized in the Australian capital city Canberra, Admiral Swift clarified the stand of American navy in the Asia-Pacific region. In the last few days, relations between America and China have got tensed. It is claimed that the ongoing nuclear program of North Korea is the reason for this. A week ago, US President Trump had made it clear that US henceforth will not take any help from China on deciding about North Korea. Also, disagreements on the ‘South and East China Sea’ issue are also escalating.

Given such a background, a question about “Would US navy carry out a nuclear strike on China? was raised in the security meeting, to which Admiral Swift answered affirmatively and clarified that US security forces will abide to the orders of President Trump. Also the US Pacific Fleet commander has criticized China’s claim over ‘South China sea’ and has appealed to the US administration to pay attention  in this matter.

In the last week China had deployed its patrolling ship to survey the Naval exercise between America and Australia. Admiral Swift sharply criticized this action. He also accused China of previously sending a patrolling ship for surveillance of  the American Navy in the Hawaiian Islands.

Speaking further, the Admiral said, ‘Every soldier of the American military has sworn to defend the American constitution against all foreign and domestic enemies. At the same time, they are firm on their oath to obey orders of the elected US President.

Admiral Swift also made it clear that this is the core of the American democracy and the situation grave danger may arise the moment American military deviates from these objectives and from the responsibility to safeguard American citizens.
