China-US relations in a decisive phase: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi

Beijing/Washington: – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi claimed ‘The last few years have proved to be a time of unprecedented impediments in the China-US relations and the relations have reached a decisive phase. There is a ray of hope in sight; this could be an opportunity to rebuild the relations.’ Foreign Minister Yi also accused US President Donald Trump implemented cold war policies against China. While the Chinese Foreign Minister is giving mixed signals, it is reported that the leading New York Stock Exchange expelled three big Chinese companies.

Joe Biden has emerged the winner, in the last year’s Presidential elections and he will be taking over as the President in the next few days. It is being claimed that Biden’s stand regarding China will be softer that current President Donald Trump. A few leaders and analysts from China have endorsed this claim and China has initiated efforts to restore the US-China relationship to the original state. Foreign Minister Yi’s statement is considered to be a part of the same initiative.  

The Chinese Foreign Minister accused the United States of trying to oppress China and start a new cold war. Therefore, along with spoiling relations between the two countries, there were major upheavals, even on the international level. No one will support these policies and they will fail.’ But at the same time, Yi indicated that China is willing to develop relations with the United States. He claimed that China is keen to reconnect based on coordination, cooperation and stability.   

Foreign Minister Yi also said that China is aware that some people have heartburn, seeing the Chinese progress. He also advised that if the United States learns a lesson from history and takes steps in the same direction with China, both countries can resolve the disputes. Simultaneously, the Chinese Foreign Minister demanded that the United States respect the social system and the path of development adopted by China.   

While the Chinese Foreign Minister is advising the United States, President Trump’s administration has kept the edge sharp, of actions against China. A few days ago, the US commerce department had released a list of 31 Chinese companies, linked with the Chinese military and had warned of stern action against them. The leading Stock market in the United States, ‘The New York Stock Exchange’, has started implementing this action.  

Three Chinese companies, China Mobile Communications, China Telecommunications Corp and China Unicorn (Hongkong) have been delisted from The York Stock Exchange. The exchange informed that the action would be completed before the end of next week. Before this, President Trump had announced a ban on Huawei and ZTE, Chinese giants in the telecommunications Sector. It is being said that following that, actions have been initiated against nearly 50 Chinese companies operating in the United States.
