Third World WarWashington/Moscow/Ankara: US President Donald Trump warned ‘The deployment of Turkish military in Libya will fester the situation further, in Libya.’ The Turkish parliament passed the proposal presented by Turkish President Erdogan to deploy military in Libya. The reaction of the US President is regarding this development. Along with the United States, even Russia lashed out at the Turkish military deployment in Libya.

The Turkish parliament passed the proposal presented by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to deploy a unit of Turkish military in Libya. The Turkish parliament passed this proposal for military deployment in Libya with a 325 against 184 votes difference. President Erdogan said that the decision has been taken following a formal request from the Government of National Accord, headed by Sarraj.

Libyan Prime Minister Sarraj welcomed the Turkish decision. But severe reactions are being received from various countries including the United States and Russia. Even in the past, the Arab league had bitterly opposed Turkish interference in Libya.

US President Donald Trump warned President Erdogan regarding the deployment in Libya over the telephone. President Trump warned ‘Turkey should not interfere in Libya. This Turkish interference can fester the situation in Libya further.’ White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley revealed this information. Whereas, senior Russian leader Leonid Slutley expressed concern over the Turkish decision.

Leonid Slutley used stern words to target Turkey ‘It is necessary to resolve the Libyan issue through negotiations. There is no need for a foreign country to interfere.’ He also appealed to the international community and the United Nations to clarify their stand on the Turkish military deployment in Libya.

Israel, Greece and Cyprus also have opposed this Turkish military deployment in Libya. During the EastMed meeting held in Greece, the heads of state of these countries warned that the Turkish deployment in Libya and the naval cooperation, will invite grave repercussions in the region.

A US newspaper warned that after the Turkish involvement, other countries will also jump into the fray and the conflict will turn into a multinational war.
 

Libyan rebels shoot down a Turkish drone

Tripoli: The soldiers of the rebel faction of the Libyan military, headed by military chief General Haftar claimed to have shot down a Turkish drone. The Haftar rebels said that this action was taken as the Turkish drones are assisting the pro-terrorist Sarraj government in Libya.

General Haftar has declared that a crusade will be started against Turkey. Turkey is preparing to deploy military in Libya. General Haftar claimed that if Egypt deployed its military in their support, they will overthrow the Sarraj government in matter of hours. Meanwhile, the Egyptian government has said that Egypt cannot be a silent spectator, when Turkey is deploying its military in Libya.
