US President Trump is the new Hitler, Russian leaders express criticism following Syria attack

Moscow: Russian leaders have criticised that, ‘Donald Trump is Hitler number 2 of the current times’. These are the severe reactions coming from Russia, following the attack by the United States, the UK and France on Syria. Russian leaders and diplomats have begun to use strong words against the United States.

Senior Russian Parliament member Alexander Sherin targeted the US President by saying, ‘Donald Trump can be called Hitler Number 2 of the current times. Trump selected the timing for the attack, same as the one that Hitler had chosen to attack the Soviet Union’. The Nazi army, under Hitler’s leadership had attacked the Soviet Union at around 4 am in 1941. It is said that the United States, the UK and France also carried out the attacks at around 4 am on Friday. Sherin made a reference to this while criticising Trump.

Along with Sherin, Vasily Nebenzya, the Russian Ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Anatoly Antonov, the Russian Ambassador to the United States as also the Russian Foreign Ministry showered vitriolic criticism on the United States. ‘The situation in Syria is worsening by the day. Other countries should not forget that Russian soldiers are present in Syria. The United States has taken a belligerent stance and seeing the signals given by them, no possibility can be ruled out’, with this statement, the Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, sternly warned of a possible nuclear war between the two countries.

Anatoly Antonov, the Russian Ambassador to the United States said that the United States attacks on Syria was a pre-planned conspiracy. ‘Russia has been threatened once again. Russia had already warned that threats and activities against Russia’s interests, would have to bear dire consequences. Now the entire responsibility lies with the United States, the UK and France. Russia’s insult is unacceptable and it will not be tolerated’, threatened Antonov.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also expressed strong displeasure over the Syrian attack. ‘First the Arab Spring was tested, then the IS was used and now these smart US missiles have been fired’, said Zakharova while pointing out the actions against the Syrian government.

Zakharova alleged that these attacks were carried out at a time when Syria was progressing towards a peaceful future. The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also criticised the attacks and said that the people carrying out such attacks have to be referred to as ‘bizarre’.
