The Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) department of the United States has included three more Pakistani terrorists in the list of International terrorists. The US Department of State made this announcement. Along with Abdul Rahman Al Dakhil, Hamid Al Hassan and Abdul Jabbar from Lashkar have been included in the list of International terrorists.

Abdul Rahman has been involved in many terrorist activities in India and even today, he is carrying out anti-India activities. He was involved in some of the terrorist attacks carried out between 1997 and 2001. But after that, he got involved in the terrorist activities in Iraq. The British soldiers deployed in Iraq, captured Abdul Rahman in 2004 and handed him over to the United States. He was in the United States’ prison till 2014. He was kept in the prisons in Afghanistan and Iraq. But thereafter, he was handed over to Pakistan.

But Pakistan released Abdul Rahman in 2016 following which, he became active in Lashkar again. He was made the Commander of Lashkar in Jammu-Kashmir. The United States has stated that Abdul Rahman has been included in the list of international terrorists, in order to stop his terrorist activities and to stop the financial assistance he has been receiving .

Jabbar and Hassan included in the list of international terrorists, carry out the work of raising funds for the terrorist activities. All the funds needed for Lashkar to carry out the terrorist activities are collected in the name of an affiliate organisation, ‘Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation.’ The United Nations has already included ‘Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation’ in the list of banned organisations in the year 2012. Hassan is active on twitter and he has shown himself to be a leader of Hafiz Saeed’s Jamaat-Ud-Dawa party. Both of these are raising funds for Lashkar, since the year 2000.

Meanwhile, the United States has included many Pakistani terrorists in the list of international terrorists before this. They include Lashkar chief Hafeez Saeed and Zakiur Rahman Lakhwi. The United Nations also has declared them as international terrorists. Despite this, these people are moving openly in Pakistan, issuing terror threats and contesting elections.

Pakistan has been included in the grey list of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for funding the terrorists. If Pakistan fails to curtail the flow of funds to the terrorists, Pakistan’s name could feature in the blacklist of FATF. Then Pakistan, whose economy is already in doldrums, will not be able to borrow funds from the international institutions. Therefore, the pressure on Pakistan to counter terrorism actions is increasing by the day.
