India questions Pakistan in UNHRC about thousands of people who disappeared from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Washington: – India retaliated strongly against Pakistan, who is making a fuss that India is meting out tremendous atrocities to the people of Jammu-Kashmir, in the United Nations Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) conference. Indian First Secretary in the United Nations, Senthil Kumar asked pointed questions ‘Pakistan should look at its history before levelling baseless accusations against India. Where did thousands of citizens disappear from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa? How do you categorise the atrocities meted out to these citizens in Pakistan?’ Senthil Kumar also retorted that Pakistan is the first country in South Asia, to perpetrate a massacre and blame it on others.

The 43rd session of the UNHRC is being held and on Monday, Pakistan threw a tantrum that there is a genocide being carried out in Jammu-Kashmir. Pakistan also levelled indiscriminate accusations that after the abrogation of article 370, tremendous atrocities and human rights violations are rampant in Jammu-Kashmir. India has delivered a proper slap across Pakistan’s face, on this issue.

Senthil Kumar showed the mirror to Pakistan saying ‘Pakistan should first look at what is happening in that country. Only then they should dare to advise any other country. Actions, violence, abductions and killings by the Pakistan military has become a routine for Balochistan. Till date, nearly 47,000 Baloch and 35,000 Pashtun citizens are missing. More than 500 citizens from the Hazra sect have been killed in Balochistan. Whereas, many people from the Hazra sect have left Pakistan. Pakistan should focus on these issues.’ Senthil Kumar also asked Pakistan a straight question ‘Where did thousands disappear from Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa?’

Senthil Kumar reprimanded ‘Pakistan is misusing the international platform like the UNHRC. What is the state of minorities in Pakistan? When Incidents of religious extremism and violence are routinely reported from the country and this country’s history is full of such incidents, they should examine their history, instead of advising other countries. Senthil Kumar also pointed out that there have been no changes in Jammu-Kashmir after the abrogation of article 370. But it is Pakistan who is trying to create disturbances in that region.

Meanwhile, India has been nominated for a no-permanent seat, in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the Indian selection is said to be a foregone conclusion. Pakistan foreign minister Mahmood Qureshi expressed concerns over this. India is carrying on atrocities in Kashmir and has never abided by the UN resolution regarding Kashmir. Qureshi said that therefore, India getting a seat on the UNSC is not a satisfying development.

Pakistan is frantically trying to raise the Kashmir issue on the international level, but has failed time and again. Analysts are advising Pakistan to try and save Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. After the abrogation of article 370, Pakistan sponsored terrorists are being eliminated from Jammu-Kashmir, making Pakistan restless. All these are desperate attempts by Pakistan to show its people that the Kashmir issue has been kept alive, by Pakistan.
