Indian journalist slain in Kandahar

Danish Siddiqui, an Indian journalist, was assassinated by the Taliban in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Siddiqui was travelling with the Afghan army to learn about the conflict against Taliban. Siddiqui was killed along with an Afghan soldier in a shootout with Taliban militants. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur expressed deep sorrow over Siddiqui’s murder. The Press Club said that the killing of Siddiqui is shocking and has expressed its grief over the killing.
