Taliban warns India by mentioning Kashmir

Islamabad: – ‘We have the right to raise our voice for Muslims around the world,’ said Suhail Shaheen, a Taliban spokesman. But Shaheen clarified that the Taliban would not take military action for Kashmir. A few days ago, Al-Qaeda sent a message to the Taliban to launch a movement for the so-called independence of Kashmir, after Afghanistan. However, some Taliban leaders later claimed that Kashmir was an internal Indian issue. There was outrage from Pakistan. Against that backdrop, a Taliban spokesman appears to have referred to Kashmir as a warning to India to comfort Pakistan.

Will India recognize Taliban rule? This is a question that is being asked. Taliban leaders are vying for India’s recognition. In Doha, Qatar, Taliban leader Stanikzai met with the Indian ambassador. This is considered to be India’s first official talks with the Taliban. It was later claimed that India was ready to recognize the Taliban. But Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi made the country’s position clear. The security of Indians in Afghanistan, as well as Hindus and Sikhs in that country, is India’s top priority. Bagchi had clarified that talks were being held with the Taliban for this purpose.

No decision has yet been made on recognizing the Taliban, Arindam Bagchi said. European countries are presenting a similar stand. Against this backdrop, a Taliban spokesman tried to warn India by raising the issue of Kashmir. Speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak, a Taliban spokesman pleased Pakistan by mentioning the Kashmir issue. Pakistan’s anti-India journalists are claiming that his remarks may have caused a lightning strike on India. This may have comforted Pakistan, who was disturbed by the statements made by Taliban leaders, in favour of India, in the last few days.

A Taliban government has not yet been formed in Afghanistan. At present, the statements of Taliban leaders and spokespersons are being used to predict the goals of the Taliban government. It is also clear that there is no consensus among the Taliban. On the one hand, the Taliban leaders are reassuring India by saying that the Kashmir issue is an internal matter of India. On the other hand, they are comforting Pakistan by mentioning Kashmir. Mullah Baradar, the current key Taliban leader, and Masood Azhar, the head of Jaish-e-Mohammed, reportedly met. The visit is said to have been orchestrated by Pakistan’s infamous ISI

In such a scenario, there is no reason to believe the word of the Taliban. The stand of the Taliban, who raises the issue of Kashmir regarding China, is striking. Taliban leaders claim that Afghanistan’s development depends on the investment of a country like China. For the same reason, a Taliban spokesman has not shown the courage to speak out for the Uyghurs, who are suffering horrific atrocities in China’s Xinjiang province.

Therefore, Taliban leaders and spokespersons are making contradictory statements and increasing the uncertainty about their policies. Whether it is part of the Taliban’s strategy to mislead a country like India or whether there is indeed a discrepancy in the Taliban’s foreign policy front will soon become clear. But before that, a Taliban spokesman has made India cautious by making statements on the Kashmir issue. However, the serving and former Indian military officials have warned that if the Taliban start a fight for the so-called independence of Jammu and Kashmir, according to Al-Qaeda’s message, the Indian Army will give a hearty welcome to the Taliban. Indian diplomats say the Taliban will have to do a lot to gain India’s recognition.
