Russia orders expulsion of 20 Czech diplomats

Moscow: – The Czech Republic gave Russian diplomats 48 hours to leave the country. However, Russia ordered 20 Czech diplomats to leave the country on the 19th of April before midnight. Russia also issued summons to the Czech Ambassador to express its annoyance. At the same time, Russia accused that the United States was responsible for the expulsion of the Russian diplomats. In 2014, there had been massive blasts in a warehouse of the Czech military. At that time, the Czech army had termed the explosions as an accident. But the Czech agencies are accusing that Russia is behind the blasts, and agents of the Russian intelligence agency have carried out these blasts. In support of their claims, the Czech agencies have even revealed the information of the Russian agents involved in the operation.

After that, the Czech Republic expelled 18 Russian diplomats from the country. Orders were issued that these diplomats should leave the country in the next 48 hours. Within hours of this Czech action, Russia summoned the Czech Ambassador in Moscow on Sunday night. Russia denounced the act in harsh words. Russian foreign ministry warned that 20 Czech diplomats should leave the country before Monday midnight or they will have to face action. The Czech embassy will be closed from Monday. It is claimed that this will affect the Czech diplomatic services in Russia. Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian foreign ministry, also has accused that the United States is responsible for the steps taken by the Czech Republic, a member of NATO and the European Union.

Zakharova also claimed that the action also somehow links to the coup against the government in Belarus. Russia busted a major coup in Belarus, attempting to overthrow the government, and arrested two people. Russia and Belarus have accused that the United States is behind the coup. Meanwhile, there is a strong duel on the diplomatic level between Russia and the United States. The United States and Russia were facing each other in the actions like the United States imposing sanctions against Russian officials, an equivalent retaliation from Russia. But looking at the developments in the Czech Republic and Belarus, an indirect duel seems to have started between Russia and the United States.
