Activation of QUAD increases Chinese concerns

New Delhi: – India, United States, Japan and Australia will meet in September. Quad’s military cooperation seems to gain momentum before the meeting. So, this has significantly raised concerns for China. Chinese withdrawal from Gogra on Ladakh’s LAC points to this concern. At the same time, India has stepped up its pressure on China by deploying its naval task force in the South China Sea. As per the reports, China has started naval exercises in the area before Indian warships reach there.

After the Quad was formed, China ridiculed it. Moreover, it retorted that the alliance between India, the US, Japan and Australia would remain limited to newspaper headlines. Besides, it said that the cooperation would not go beyond just the headlines. On the strength of this superfluous belief, China continued its naval hegemony in the Indo-Pacific region. At the same time, it also accelerated activities on India’s LAC. China argued that challenging India in this area would divert India’s attention to the border issue with China. So, it will also prevent India from paying attention to the navy. But India delivered a significant jolt to China by increasing its participation in the Quad.

Quad’s cooperation is now becoming a reality. Moreover, as per the indications, movements have begun on the military level. Chinese aggression has forced the US to provide an impetus to QUAD and India has also decided to play a more active role in this regard. A few days ago, former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott visited India and held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the talks, Abbott expressed confidence that India could effectively repel the Chinese threat. Tony Abbott said that trade between India and Australia and cooperation on other levels indicates that democratic countries are moving away from China. Tony Abbott said, ‘Also, trade between India and Australia and cooperation at other levels indicates that democratic countries are moving away from China.’ ‘India is a great option for a reckless China,’ Abbott wrote in an article for an Australian newspaper.

Earlier, Britain had also planned to set up an organization ‘D10’ of democratic countries. The United States has also called for unity among democracies, which has sent shockwaves through China.
