Dhaka: Intense protests were held in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, against the atrocities meted out to the Uyghurs, by the Chinese communist government. There is large scale opposition from European countries along with the United States to the atrocities against the Uyghurs in China. Now it is seen that the reflections of this are becoming apparent in the smaller countries too.

Protests in Bangladesh against Chinese atrocities on UyghursThe Uyghurs are being tortured in China since the last few years and they have been detained in camps. Millions of Uyghurs have been detained in camps in the Xinjiang province of China. Moreover, the United Nations and the human rights organisations, demand atrocities against the Uyghur population be stopped. But the detention and torture of Uyghurs in China, is continuing. Citizens of Bangladesh held strong protests against the atrocities showered on the Uyghurs in China. The Bangladesh Freedom Fighters organised Uyghur Repression Day. At this time, the Bangladesh citizens even gave slogans against China.

in 2018, the UN made a startling revelation in one of its reports that 1.1 million Uyghurs have been dumped in torture camps. Following the publication of the report, the western countries started targeting China over the Uyghur issue. But China had claimed that the Uyghurs were not dumped in torture camps and they had been kept in professional training centres. As per the claim of the human rights groups, no charges have been registered against the citizens, dumped in the camps. Therefore, it is being accused that the Chinese government has left no avenues open to challenge their detention. It is exposed that all the claims made by China in the matter are false.

The United States had criticised that while China is meting out enormous atrocities to the Uyghurs, the Islamic countries around the world are hesitant in taking a stand against China. Excepting Turkey, to a certain extent, no other country has registered an official protest against China. Pakistan harbouring a desire to lead the Islamic countries has not uttered a single word against this. But the protests in Bangladesh shows that the Islamic population in the world has started standing up to protest against China. This could result in pressure on the Bangladesh government. China is planning to make huge investments in Bangladesh and use the country against India. In this scenario, the Friday protests could come as a jolt for China.
