PM Narendra Modi suggests expediting efforts to repatriate Indians from Afghanistan

New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level meeting to discuss the situation after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. It is learned that Prime Minister Modi has instructed to prioritise repatriation of Indians stranded in Afghanistan. Talks were held between Ajit Doval, India’s National Security Advisor and Jake Sullivan, US National Security Advisor. India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is reported to have discussed Afghanistan with US Secretary of State Blinken.

The Prime Minister also directed to bring the Hindu and Sikh communities, who are trying to flee Afghanistan to seek refuge in India, as soon as possible due to the terror threat of the Taliban. The Hindu and Sikh communities, which are religious minorities in Afghanistan, are at risk of being attacked by the Taliban. That is why India’s efforts for their release become important. Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, an Air Force C-17 aircraft carrying more than 120 Indian diplomats and ITBP personnel landed at Gujarat’s Jamnagar airport. All of them informed the media about the dire situation in Afghanistan.

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke over the phone with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The issue of the release of those stranded in Afghanistan is said to be at the forefront of this discussion. Foreign Minister Jaishankar discussed the situation in Afghanistan with US Secretary of State Blinken. France rescued 21 Indians stranded in Afghanistan from Kabul to Paris. Foreign Minister Jaishankar thanked French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian for this.

A meeting of the UN Security Council on Afghanistan has been convened. Foreign Minister Jaishankar will present India’s position at the meeting. But despite Pakistan’s request, Pakistan was not included in the discussion. The Pakistani media is throwing a tantrum over this. According to Pakistani analysts, this is an insult to Pakistan.
