Poland known to be one of the important nations of the EU has taken an aggressive stand against the issue of refugees and has indicated to ‘Exit’ from EU if they are being pressurized. The ‘Exit’ indications given by Poland is said to start a new faction in the EU.

Poland, EU, European Union, Hungary, In September 2015, European Union had formulated an independent policy to send refugees to its member nations. As per this policy around 1 lakh 60 Thousand refugees were going to be sent to 28 member nations. However, East-European nations including Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary opposed this policy and refused the proposal to accept these refugees. Over this issue, the European Union has initiated a legal action against these three nations and has indicated to cut down funding and withdraw their voting rights.

However, the action taken by the Union against Poland and other nations will never be a success, as claimed by Poland’s political scientist ‘Renata Mienkowska’. If the Union initiates action against Poland, this will result into a severe reaction by the Polish people, as warned by Mienkowska. If EU stops funding Poland after the year 2020, then Poland can openly take the decision to move out of the EU, as claimed by Mienkowska.

Polish Prime Minister ‘Mateusz Morawiecki’ in his speech over Poland’s policy had severely opposed the concept of ‘multi-speed Europe’. At the same time, he insisted that Poland’s opinion must be considered in planning the future moves of the European Union. Along with Poland, Czech Republic had also taken an aggressive stand against the issue of refugees and had indicated that no changes should be made in the policy to not accept the refugees. Earlier Hungarian Prime Minister had announced to initiate a dispute with European Union over the issue of refugees.

In the backdrop of severe and increasing opposition over the issue of refugees, if Poland decides to ‘Exit’, then it is indicated that the European Union may have to face a new faction. Post the decision taken by Britain to exit from EU in the year 2016, severe consequences are still eminent in Europe and the supportive stand against the European Union seems to be increasing in the member nations like Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Sweden and Austria.
