Jani Khel: – The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province has been rocked following the cruel massacre of Pashtun youth. The angry Pashtun population has started strong protests against the Pakistan military. At the beginning of March, four Pashtun youths in the age group 13 to 17 went missing from the Jani Khel region in Pakistan. Locals accused that the terrorists from Tehrik-e-Taliban abducted the youth under suspicion of espionage. Locals complained that despite persistent follow up with the security agencies; no action was taken.

On Sunday, the locals noticed four graves near the military base. Bodies of the four missing youths were exhumed from these graves. Locals are claiming that these youth were subjected to sexual assault and thereafter shot indiscriminately. Accusation is being made that one body had been decapitated, which caused an outbreak of anger in the local population.

Tehrik-e-Taliban, a terrorist organisation supported by the Pakistan military, is behind this merciless massacre. Locals are accusing that the military is using the terrorist organisation to crush the agitation of the Pashtun Tahfooz Movement (PTM) for the rights of the Pashtun people and free Pashtunistan and to instil fear in the minds of the Pashtun population. In 2009, the Pakistan military had claimed to have taken a major action against Tehrik-e-Taliban, in this region. But this was a ploy only to fool the international community.  Locals claimed on social media that even today, the bases of Tehrik and other terrorist organisations are still operational in this region.

Earlier, PTM leaders had exposed this cooperation between the Pakistan military and the terrorist organisations. Pakistan military claims that it has deployed many soldiers in the region for the Pashtun people’s security from Tehrik and the terrorist organisations. But PTM had blamed that the Pakistan military is working together with Terrik to shower atrocities on the Pashtun population and suppress their voices.

Last year, PTM Leader Manzoor Pashteen, fighting for the rights of the Pashtun people, had been detained by the Pakistan military. But following the intense protest by the Pashtun people and the international support for them, the Pakistan government and military released Pashteen. In this scenario, it is being claimed that the Pakistan military is once again in trouble due to the killing of the four Pashtun youth.
