The agitated journalists even held protests in the city of Karachi. Senior journalist Hamid Mir fired a salvo at ISI and Pakistan military for the attack.

Hamid Mir made some vitriolic criticism ‘The Pakistan military is instructing the journalist to publish news reports promoting friendship with India. Their tanks are rusting and they cannot face India in a war. Those who refuse to cooperate are being targeted.’ Mir also made another revelation that the Pakistan military spewing venom against Israel, in reality, wants to establish friendly relation with Israel. Mir warned ‘We may not have the weapons like you, but in future, if the journalists are attacked, we will expose the information from your houses to the world. We will report to the world- ‘why your wife shot you.’ It is not clear if this threat was directed towards any particular official in the Pakistan military. But Hamid Mir has indicated that the Pakistan military has a lot to hide, and it will be difficult for them to face the world if this information is made public.

The state of the Pakistan military has been exposed to the world due to these Hamid Mir warnings, issued in a fit of anger. Pakistan military, who were always trying to assist terrorist infiltration through the Line of Control in Kashmir, resorting to cross border firing, has decided to impose a ceasefire with India. At the same time, the Pakistan military chief appealed to India to establish cooperation for a bright future. Military chief General Bajwa expected the Pakistan government to take the initiative in this respect. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan also initiated efforts in this direction, proposing the import of cotton and sugar from India. But the Pakistan Prime Minister was forced to withdraw the decision given the opposition from the extremist groups. It is claimed that the Pakistan military is upset with the Imran Khan government for mishandling the issue. Against this background, the accusations made by the senior journalist that the Pakistan military is feeling a need to establish peace with India. Therefore it is pressurising the journalists are being endorsed.
