Pakistan is the second home for Taliban, open confession by Taliban spokesperson

Kabul: – ‘Pakistan is the second home of the Taliban,’ said the Taliban spokesman. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid also testified that he would not allow anything adverse to happen in his second home. The claim made by Mujahid in an interview with a Pakistani news channel can be a source of trouble for Pakistan. The Taliban’s rapprochement with Pakistan has been the subject of international criticism and a matter of concern for Pakistani intellectuals. Taliban flags are being flown at religious and educational institutions in Pakistan. This is leading to the Talibanization of Pakistan, and its dire consequences are becoming apparent. In such a situation, Zabiullah Mujahid has created a stir by saying that Pakistan is the second home of the Taliban.

The Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan last week was celebrated in Pakistan. An old video of Hamid Gul, the head of Pakistan’s ISI, was leaked to the Pakistani media on occasion. Gul had said that Pakistan would defeat the United States, in Afghanistan, with the help of the United States itself. Evidencing this, it was boldly claimed that Pakistan was behind the Taliban’s victory. The Pakistan government is also pushing for the international community to recognise the Taliban regime.

On the one hand, the Pakistan government denies any links with the Taliban, and on the other hand, it is providing all possible assistance to the Taliban, which is being noted internationally. Pakistan, which provided arms, money and military aid to the Taliban, has sparked discontent in Western countries. In such a situation, Zabiullah Mujahideen exposed the country by giving an interview to Pakistan’s news channel.

Pakistani leaders and analysts are angry that the Taliban have embarrassed their country internationally by claiming Pakistan is their second home. At the same time, after taking control of Afghanistan, the Taliban was expected to take action against Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, who are responsible for attacks on the Pakistani defence agencies. For this, Pakistan had given a list of Tehrik-i-Taliban’s most wanted terrorists to the Taliban. But the Taliban have been criticised for betraying Pakistan by refusing to take action against them.

In addition, the statement made by a Taliban spokesman about Osama bin Laden is also of concern to some political analysts in Pakistan. Mujahid said there was no evidence that Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden carried out the 9/11 attacks on the United States. Thus, it is clear that the Taliban is still adamant about its position on Al-Qaeda and bin Laden, which it adopted 20 years ago. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan had stated in the country’s parliament a year ago that Osama bin Laden was a martyr. All of this is being taken cognisance of by the international community. Analysts warn that the United States, in particular, has noted Pakistan’s cooperation with the Taliban and that Pakistan will soon face the consequences. Former US military and diplomatic officials have openly demanded that Pakistan be taught a lesson. Former US military and political officials have blamed Pakistan for the Taliban’s success against the US in Afghanistan. A Taliban spokesman appears to have confirmed the allegations by leaking information about his second home.
