One mistake by the US will cause Hormuz Strait’s oil transport to shut down, warns Iranian military chief

Third World War

Tehran: ‘The United States will have to pay a heavy price if it makes the mistake of stopping the Iranian crude exports. Iran will stop the entire crude oil movement from Arabian nations, passing through the Strait of Hormuz if the United States makes this mistake,’ warned the Iranian military chief, Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri. A few days ago, US National Security Advisor, John Bolton had said that the United States plans to bring the Iranian oil exports to nought . The Iranian military chief has retaliated by issuing this direct warning of closing down the Strait of Hormuz.

In the beginning of August, US President, Donald Trump imposed harsher sanctions against Iran. These sanctions are severely impacting the Iranian economy and the Iranian analysts are claiming that the economic crisis faced by the country is becoming more serious. Many of the European companies have withdrawn from the Iranian oil trade and the US sanctions have severely hit the Iranian oil exports. An international organisation has published the statistics showing that the Iranian oil exports have been reduced by millions of barrels. The Iranian Rial is steadily declining and the Iranian population is agitating against the Rouhani government due to the resultant price-rise.

US National Security Advisor, John Bolton had justified the US sanctions against Iran, during his visit to Israel a few weeks ago. Bolton also said that it is not necessary to open a military front against Iran as the economic sanctions are proving to be equally effective. Bolton had also said that the United States will bring the Iranian crude oil exports to a nought through these sanctions.

Major General Bagheri criticised this announcement by Bolton. ‘The United States and its allies are aware of the heavy price that they will have to pay if even a small mistake is committed against Iran. Therefore, if an attempt is made to stop the Iranian crude oil exports, we will block all the crude oil exports from the Arab countries, passing through the Strait of Hormuz,’ threatened the Iranian military chief. A third of the total oil movement of the world takes place through this marine region. This increases the significance of the threat issued by the Iranian military chief.

Iran has been threatening the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, ever since US President, Donald Trump announced sanctions against Iran. Before this, Iranian President Rouhani and the Iranian naval chief have also threatened about the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Moreover, Iran has made large military deployment in the Strait of Hormuz. Similarly, the United States also has kept the warships and bombers in a state of readiness in the Persian Gulf.

By the end of this year, US military will invade Iran, claims German analyst

By the end of this year, the United States will impose harsher sanctions against Iran. The situation will deteriorate because of the sanctions and the United States will invade Iran to gain control over it, claimed German analyst, Josef Braml.

The United States will carry out these attacks to destroy the Iranian nuclear capabilities, claimed Braml. This war was avoided because of the signing of the nuclear deal between the western countries and Iran in 2015. But now that the United States has withdrawn from the nuclear deal, the war is inevitable and it will start soon, said Braml.
