NIA files 13,800-page charge sheet in the Pulwama attack case  

New Delhi: – The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a charge sheet, running into 13,800 pages, against the 19 terrorists, perpetrating the dreadful attack on the CRPF convoy at Pulwama in Jammu-Kashmir. These include Jaish-e-Mohammed Chief Masood Azhar along with his brother, Rauf Asgar. NIA has said that the plot for the attack was hatched in Pakistan. Jaish was preparing for one more attack in Jammu-Kashmir. But Jaish could not go ahead with the attack, following the Indian Airforce Strike at Balakot.

On 14th February 2019 Jaish terrorists carried out a suicide attack in Pulwama. 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred in the attack. The NIA filed a charge sheet running into 13,800 pages against 19 terrorists involved in the attack. Six terrorists, out of these, have died. Whereas seven have been arrested. Five others are missing and NIA has said that they are in Pakistan.

Mohammed Umar Farooq was the mastermind of the Pulwama attack. In 2018, he had infiltrated into India from Pakistan. He had brought 20 kgs of RDX into Jammu-Kashmir, from Pakistan. At the same time, Ammonium Nitrate and other explosives were purchased over the internet. He was killed by the security forces, in March, this year. Whereas, Adil Dar was the suicide bomber.

NIA has released photographs of three terrorists and the Identity card of Mohammed Umar Farooq. NIA has found the telephone used by Mohammed Umar Farooq. This has information such as call recordings of the terrorists, conversations, and groups on socials media. NIA clarified that the attack was carried out with the help of local terrorists of Jaish. The claims that Pakistan was behind the Pulwama attack have been endorsed with the charge sheet filed by NIA.
