Pargat Singh was instrumental in inciting youth from Punjab and Delhi and recruiting them in the SFJ. He was receiving massive funding for this purpose. The non-resident Khalistan supporters were running the SFJ and trying to incite the youth into carrying out terrorist activities. Two years ago, this organisation had started agitations in Europe and the United States against India and for Khalistan. But it was exposed that the ISI was behind this organisation.

Two years ago, some incidences of violence had been reported from Punjab. Punjab police had detained 11 people in this connection. It was exposed that SFJ had a hand in the violence. When it was clear that the activities to incite the Indian citizens were being carried out, sitting in foreign countries, the investigation was handed over to the NIA. Therefore, Pargat Singh’s arrest becomes extremely important. He has been given judicial custody till 29th June.

Only three days ago, the Punjab police busted one more module of SFJ, operating with assistance from ISI. Large quantities of arms and ammunition also were seized.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, NIA filed the charge sheet against 12 people accused of assisting IS terrorists. This case was registered based on a complaint filed by a manager from a telecom company at Kanchipuram in Chennai, on 28th December 2019. Some SIM cards had been activated on bogus documents. NIA investigated the case and arrested 12 people. Thereafter, it was exposed that all these people have IS links.
