Tel Aviv/Moscow: There was a mysterious explosion in an Israeli cargo ship sailing through the Gulf of Oman. Over the last few years, Iran has carried out attacks on cargo ships and oil tankers from Norway, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and other countries in this marine sector. Therefore, it is suspected that Iran is behind this explosion on the Israeli ship. Talks have started that Iran targeted the Israeli ship to avenge the attacks carried out by the United States on the bases of Iran-affiliated terrorist groups in Syria. The US fighter jets destroyed two bases of Iran-affiliated terrorist organisations in the Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria in the strikes carried out from Thursday night to Friday morning. 22 terrorists were killed in the US action. This is the first attack carried out by the United States in the last month. Within 12 hours of this attack, there was a mysterious explosion on a huge Israeli freight carrier sailing through the Gulf of Oman on Friday in the evening.
The explosion was on the Israeli cargo ship, HELIOS RAY. This attack was carried out while the ship was on its way to Singapore through the Gulf. It has been clarified that no losses were caused by the explosion. But as the Israeli ship passing near that Strait of Hormuz was targeted, it is being claimed that Iran or its affiliated terrorist groups have carried out this explosion. It is being said that the attack was carried out to avenge the US attacks in Syria.
Before this, in 2019, Iran had targeted ships from the US allies sailing through the Gulf. Iran started targeting the cargo ships and oil tankers after the then US President Donald Trump withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal and imposed sanctions. Therefore, even now, doubts are being expressed that Iran targeted the Israeli ship to avenge the US attacks in Syria. HELIOS RAY is a ship belonging to Rami Ungar, the biggest entrepreneur in Israel. Ungar is said to be a friend of Yosi Cohen, the chief of Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. Two years ago, Cohen himself had entered Iran to retrieve some classified and sensitive documents and evidence. Thereafter, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented the evidence in front of the international media. Therefore, the Israeli and Russian media are pointing out that Iran has issued a warning for Israel by targeting a ship belonging to Ungar.
