Over 24,000 Taliban terrorists killed and injured in the last four months

Kabul: – More than 24,000 Taliban militants have been killed and wounded in four months of Afghan military operations carried out between April and July. According to the Afghan government, a total of 5,777 Afghans were killed during the period, and most of them were women and children. Meanwhile, the Afghan defence ministry said 226 Taliban militants had been killed in the past 24 hours.

The Afghan army has initiated a campaign against the Taliban even before the US military withdrawal. During these four months, the Afghan military carried out about 22,000 attacks on the Taliban. More than 24,000 terrorists were killed in these attacks. The Taliban is claimed to have suffered heavy casualties in the Kandahar, Helmand, Paktia, Baghlan and Herat provinces. Afghan Ministry of Peace Affairs released the information on Thursday.  

Meanwhile, Turkey has begun training Afghan troops in its country to fight the Taliban. Turkey claims that it is a part of a NATO mission. But there has been an outcry from Pakistan over Turkey’s support for the Afghan army in its fight against the Taliban. Former Pakistani military officials and analysts have criticised Turkey for going against the Taliban.
