More than 20 terrorists killed in the French action in Burkina Faso

Paris: – The French military killed more than 20 terrorists in action taken in the East African country of Burkina Faso. The French military said that this action was taken against the terrorist organisation responsible for carrying out terrorist activities in Burkina Faso. Concerns are being expressed of Al Qaeda affiliated terrorist organisations having a significant influence in northern Burkina Faso.

As per the French military’s information, a major campaign has been started against the terrorists in Burkina Faso, in the last month. Information had been received that terrorist movements were noticed in the Burkinabe village near the Mali border. After that, the French Tiger helicopters launched an attack on 30 terrorists riding on motorcycles. The French military spokesman Colonel Frederick Barbare said that 10 terrorists were killed in this attack.

On the same day, a French drone targeted a car travelling towards the Mali border. Colonel Barbare said that more terrorists were killed in this strike. 10 terrorists were killed in another attack on another unit of terrorists on Sunday. France has already deployed its military unit for action against terrorists in Burkina Faso.

Terrorism is brewing in the Burkina Faso borders with Mali and Niger, since the last five years. Terrorist organisations affiliated to Al Qaeda and extremist organisations have carried out dreadful massacres of minorities in Burkina Faso, counted among the world’s poorest countries. More than 1,100 people have been killed in terrorist attacks since 2015. Also, more than 500,000 people have been displaced.

Meanwhile, France has intensified its action against terrorism in Africa, since the last few weeks. These include counter-terrorism actions in Mali and Niger.
