Melita Vujnovic warned, ‘Vaccination is important as this stops the spread of the virus and reduces the possibility of serious illness. But at the same time, other measures are also equally important. To counter the new variant of the Coronavirus, masks plus vaccine becomes imperative. However, only vaccination might not be sufficient to stop the variants like Delta and Delta Plus. All of us will have to make a lot of efforts in a short time. Otherwise, we will have to face lockdowns again.’

The Delta variant was found in India in the last year. This was the cause for the rapid spread of the pandemic. After that, changes were observed in the Delta variant, and a new variant Delta Plus was found. This new variant is observed to spread rapidly and with ease. Moreover, it has been exposed that this variant, which quickly affects the lung tissues, does not respond to antibody therapy. Experts in the medical field have claimed that, therefore, the infection can be more dangerous.
