Jerusalem: While fresh sanctions against Iran are being criticised by the European Union (EU), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has welcomed these sanctions. Prime Minister Netanyahu has appealed to the European nations to adopt a stand similar to President Trump.
Prime Minister Netanyahu congratulated the US President for imposing the harshest sanctions ever against Iran. The Prime Minister said that these sanctions against Iran are important not only for the United States, Israel and the Middle Eastern region, but also for the whole world. These are not mere sanctions but a warning to Iran, said the Israeli Prime Minister. The sanctions will help to curb the Iranian aggression in the Middle East as well as its nuclear ambitions, claimed Prime Minister Netanyahu.
The European countries, which have chosen to remain firm on the Iran nuclear deal despite an appeal from the US President, should stop criticising President Trump. It is necessary for the European countries to reimpose President Trump’s decision, clarified Prime Minister Netanyahu.
In 2015, a nuclear deal was signed by the then US President Barack Obama, the European Union and Iran. However, even at that time the Israeli Prime Minister had criticised the deal saying that it will only provide more latitude to Iran and its nuclear weapons program will not stop.
