Tel Aviv: Israel has busted a plot of hackers, who were planning to launch cyber attacks on big companies worldwide, including Israeli companies and demand billions of dollars in ransom. An Israeli news agency has alleged that the masterminds of the multi-billion-dollar hacking plot, are based in China.
Two leading Israeli cyber security companies, have claimed to have busted a major cyber attack by China. Chinese hacker groups have carried out cyber attacks on some of the world’s big companies in the past. The Chinese hackers had succeeded in stealing online documentation of the companies.
The hackers had demanded a ransom of $1 billion for returning the documents to the companies. However, two leading cyber security firms in Israel have claimed to have busted the cyber attack.
Previously, the cyber attacks carried out in the United States, the UK and other European nations were claimed to have originated in China. The United States had even issued a stern warning to China against this. Nevertheless, China had denied all the allegations levelled against it.
