Iranian Quds Force chief threatens US and Israel

Jeddah: Major General Qaani threatened, ‘The United States who perpetrated the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani last year will have to pay a dear price for it. Iran will crush the United States, and everyone will hear the sound at the right time.’ This threat issued by the Iranian Quds Force when the United States is making desperate efforts to sign a nuclear deal with Iran becomes significant.

Ned Price, the US state department spokesman, had warned that Iran should not be under the misconception that the United States will unilaterally make concessions and sign a fresh nuclear deal with Iran. At the same time, Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif demanded that the United States correct its mistake and join the nuclear deal.

Therefore, apparently, there is a battle of wits going on between the United States and Iran over the nuclear deal. But the US National Security Advisor had indicated that indirect talks for the nuclear deal are already being held secretly. The US opposition leaders are accusing that the Biden administration has made all the possible preparations to sign a nuclear deal with Iran.

The threat issued by the Quds Force chief only proves this. Not only the United States, the Quds Force chief threatened Israel too. Qaani warned, ‘Israel, the country with the highest weapon stock, is building a security wall one-metre wide and six feet tall, around the country, fearing Iran. But despite this, Israel will not be safe as Iran will destroy this wall.’ The Iranian media has supported the Quds Force chief’s stand against the United States and Israel.

Major General Qaani, while issuing threats to the United States and Israel in Mashhad, a city of Iran, claimed that Iran was behind the Houthi rebels who are carrying out attacks on Saudi Arabia. But it is only the Saudi Arabian news agency who has reported this. Other news agencies have not confirmed the report. The United States, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia had accused Iran of providing financial and military assistance to the Houthi rebels. Iranian ships carrying weapons to Yemen also had been seized. But the Iranian leaders and military officials had dismissed these reports. But Arab News claimed that the Quds Force chief himself confirmed this. The Biden administration has decided to remove Houthi rebels from the list of terrorist organisations. Thereafter, the Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia have intensified. Saudi Arabia has taken serious cognisance of this, and indications of far stronger action against the Houthi rebels in Yemen are being received. But the Biden administration has increased pressure on Saudi Arabia with an announcement that Saudi Arabia will not be supplied any weapons.
