Moscow: – Iran is responsible for the instability created in the Middle East countries of Iraq, Syria and Yemen. Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan accused Iran of creating instability and destruction in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister launched this attack on Iran during his Russian visit.
Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan visited Russia two days ago. During the visit, Prince Faisal met Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The government news agencies from both the countries informed that the Foreign Ministers discussed the developments in the Middle East during the meeting.
Prince Faisal accused Iran of being responsible for the instability in the Middle East while speaking at the joint media meet with the Russian Foreign Minister. Prince Faisal criticised the interference of the Iranian government in the other Gulf countries. At the same time, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister said that it is necessary to stop the Iranian interference for the population’s security in the Middle East. Prince Faisal accused that the Iran-affiliated terrorist organisations are adding to the instability in Syria and Yemen. Prince Faisal clarified, ‘The Saudi Arabian goal is to bring development and stability to Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf countries. But there is a need to jointly work against the obstacles in the path towards security and stability of the Gulf countries.’
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov clarified that Russia understands the concerns expressed by Saudi Arabia regarding Iran. Russia too wants stability in the Gulf. Foreign Minister Lavrov said that there is a need to establish a dialogue and mutual trust between Iran and the Gulf countries.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council was held last week. During the meeting, Saudi Arabia withdrew sanctions against Qatar since the previous three years and established new cooperation. At the same time, Saudi Arabia also appealed to all the Middle East countries to unite against Iran.
