Vienna/Tehran/Moscow: Iran has once again violated the nuclear deal, by producing Uranium metal, mixing Uranium Isotopes. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) revealed this information. Russian media claimed that uranium production means that Iran has come one more step closer to producing a nuclear bomb. Russia also reprimanded Iran in this matter. Two days ago, Minister for Intelligence in Iran had warned that Iran would create a nuclear bomb if the international community tried to pressurise it.
As per the information published by IAEA, Iran has successfully produced Uranium metal weighing 3.6 grams. Uranium metal is produced by mixing less enriched Uranium isotopes. The IAEA said that Iran completed this task on Uranium metal in the Isfahan nuclear project. On 8th February, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi informed about the developments in the Iranian nuclear projects to the Iran nuclear deal signatories. But except Russia, no other country from the US Security council has reacted in the matter.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Ryabkov, expressed strong concerns over the IAEA’s information regarding the Iranian nuclear program. Ryabkov appealed that Russia understands Iran’s reasons for a change in the nuclear program. Instead, Iran should exhibit restraint and take responsible decisions. Russian media also accused Iran of making preparations to develop a nuclear bomb with Uranium metal production. Uranium metal is used in power generation projects. The Russian media are claiming that this can be used for producing a nuclear bomb at the same time.
Iran has not reacted on the announcement made by the IAEA. But few days ago, the Iranian Minister for intelligence Mahmood Alawi had threatened the United States. If Biden Administration in the United States does not withdraw the sanctions and tries to pressurise Iran, then will revoke self-imposed restrictions and produce a nuclear weapon. Alawi threatened that the counties imposing the sanctions will be responsible for this and not Iran. Therefore, Iran openly threatens for being a nuclear country.
The Biden administration should take the first step, if the United States intends to sign a nuclear deal with Iran. Till the time, the United States does not comply with signing the nuclear deal unconditionally; the nuclear program will continue. For this, Iran has given a deadline of 20th February, to the United States. Iran has warned that after that, it will be impossible to stop the Iranian nuclear program. It is being said that Iran is trying to pressurise the Biden administration with these repeated threats. It is also being said that the Biden administration has started preparing for the nuclear deal, with the withdrawal of aircraft carrier USS Nimitz from the Persian Gulf. This information published by the IAEA regarding Uranium metal creates problems for the Biden administration.
